the year by the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce's. It is the prestigious
organization's top honor, with the hospital being chosen best from a large pool of
nominations.

Australian-Thai business for 2008 by the Aust-Thai Chamber of Commerce, winning the
Business of the Year award.

The awards recognize companies that "have made an outstanding contribution to the
business sector [in both Australia and Thailand] over the past year. Thirteen
semi-finalists were chosen from a large pool of nominations. The hospital was named
Business of the Year from these semi-finalists, at a gala dinner in Bangkok on
August 20, 2008.

In choosing Bangkok Hospital as the top business, the judges focused on:
# The degree of innovation at the hospital
# The hospital's quality business strategy
# The hospital's ability to sustain growth
# Their proven track record of successful performance
# Demonstrated social responsibility, and ethical corporate governance
# The hospital's commitment to the development of Australian-Thai business

Site visits were held, for judges to observe Bangkok Hospital's business practices
first hand.

The judging panel for the awards was drawn from both the public and private sectors.
The judges which named the hospital as Business of the Year were people eminent in
the international business community. Firms must have strong business links to
Australia from Thailand, or vice-versa, or must make a significant contribution to
the countries' joint economies.

This is the fourtheenth consecutive year that the Aust-Thai Chamber of Commerce
Business Awards have been held, with competition increasing every year.

The awards are sponsored by prominent entities, such as the Australian Government,
Bangkok Post , Al Jazeera, The University of Queensland, and Oz Minerals.
